Joe Rosato is a tour guide and a volunteer liaison to the Board of Directors of The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation located in Holmdel, NJ. Since 2007, Joe has been a volunteer at the memorial. He enlisted in the U.S Navy in Brooklyn, NY, his hometown, on Dec 7, 1966, which was the 25th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. He completed his basic training in New London, CT at The U.S. Submarine Training Center. In 1968, he completed his enlistment in the Navy by serving as a Helmsman and Lee Helmsman in the Vietnam War at Yankee Station (Gulf of Tonkin) on the aircraft carrier USS America CVA-66.

Joe Rosato is a freight logistics expert who has spoken to several trade groups over the years. He co-founded his Shrewsbury, NJ based freight logistics company in 1990. Joe has over 43 years of experience in the freight transportation industry, which included retail, manufacturing and trucking. In 2009, he retired from freight logistics and committed to volunteering full time. Joe lives in Farmingdale, NJ and has two grown children. His son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren live nearby in Jackson, NJ and his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live in Silverton, CO.

Joe actively speaks and volunteers at many veteran groups and has been a volunteer at The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 4 years. He is a Vietnam Veterans of America lifetime member and is also a member of The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His passion is volunteering at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial as it gives back some history to New Jersey's youth.

Joe Rosato has recently published his second book “Dog Tags & Wedding Bands” which is a historical fiction story based on events that took place during the Vietnam War. In 2015, he wrote his first memoir called “Voices Over Troubled Water”, which is a must read. Joe describes the experiences of his life, both the tragic and enlightening ones.
